The two young visionaries,
Bill Freeland and Ed Olschner in a small New Orleans warehouse,
founded Freeland Products, Inc. during 1940. Each had experience
in radio and electronics with local radio stations, recognized
the opportunity to salvage the discarded used transmitter
tubes. They fabricated new filaments and grids, resealed,
evacuated and finally with cooperation of broadcast engineers
during "off the air hours," they tried the rebuilt
tubes. The results of the tests proved successful and evolved
into a full time business. With proven ability to rebuild
vacuum tubes, the CBS network engaged the two men when O.E.M.
manufacturers were principally supporting the military during
World War II.

The vision has matured into the new century to a substantially
expanded facility producing volumes of tubes on our eight
acre plant site, near Covington, Louisiana about thirty-five
miles north of our original New Orleans birthplace.
Our rebuilt tube list includes a variety of triodes,
tetrodes, short wave and UHF-TV klystrons. With the addition
of an onsite transmitter, we can pre-tune klystrons for
ease of installation. We continue to expand our
line to include tubes used in medical and scientific
research, communication and industrial application.
Our original commitment to superior quality and
exceptional customer
service and satisfaction remains intact as we enter the
21st Century under the leadership of our new president
and third generation, Joel Freeland.
Thank you for visiting our website. We express our gratitude
and thanks to our many loyal customers who have encouraged
us over the years to do our best. To those of you who
have not used our rebuilt tubes, we invite you to try
our service. For those who do not use rebuilt tubes, we
ask you send us your expired tubes for our purchase consideration. |
